Since April 2017, the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) has formed a working group to rethink its internationalization, identify its priority areas and draw up a  Strategic Internationalization Plan (SIP-UFSCar). The objectives of SIP-UFSCar are supporting, encouraging and consolidating the graduate Programs. The main strengths of the Plan are:

  1. Institutional commitment between the administrative structure, teachers, and researchers, in a participatory and articulated way;
  2. Elaboration of new contents to expand research strategies, representing the institutional themes and the involvement of the internationalized and globalized curriculum, incorporating experiences from abroad into the curriculum;
  3. Expand teacher and student mobility "in" and "out", focusing on strategic countries;
  4. Strengthen existing collaborative connections and expand external collaboration, especially with strategic countries, in UFSCar´s research priorities, with the aim of increasing collaboration, co-supervision, and joint scientific production, thus increasing international visibility of UFSCar in selected research areas and improving international indicators.
